Thomas Schmid, General Manager

Thomas Schmid was born in Säriswil in the canton of Bern (Switzerland) in 1965 and is a graduate of the Lausanne Hotel School. He has held several management positions in Switzerland and abroad at hotels such as the Montreux Palace and the Cipriani in Venice, as deputy director of the Grand Hotel in Bad Ragaz, and as sales and marketing manager at the Baur au Lac in Zurich. He was General Manager of the Tschuggen Grand Hotel in Arosa for two years and held the position of General Manager of The Dolder Grand in Zurich from summer 2003.

As part of The Dolder Grand's refurbishment and of the new branding and organizational structure of the Dolder Resort (The Dolder Grand, Dolder Waldhaus und Dolder Sports), he was appointed Managing Director in summer 2006, giving him operative responsibility for all the resort's activities.
