Dominique Nicolas Godat grew up in Berne and completed his diploma with distinction in the Lausanne Hotel School. After training in Dubai in the Dubai International Hotel, he gained national and international experience as F&B Manager in the Plaza Athenée in New York, as F&B Director in the renowned Beau-Rivage Palace in Lausanne and in the Stanhope Hotel in New York. He also worked for three years as F&B Director in New York’s The Pierre, before acquiring further qualifications at Cornell University, Ithaca, in the areas of Marketing Management, Leadership, Motivation and Creative Management.

He deliberately continued his professional career in the luxury hotel sector, which has always fascinated and inspired him. After returning to Switzerland he joined the Kulm Hotel St. Moritz in 1996, initially as Deputy Director. In addition, from 1999 to 2000 he completed the Employer Seminar of the SHV (Swiss Hotels Association), and since 2002 he has been successfully managing the Kulm Hotel along with all its associated operations.
